The Definition of Justice

What do you think of the way people should be judged and punished? "An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth" wasn't always a saying. It came from an ancient mesopotamian law that people actually had to live under. If one person tore out another person's eye, the person missing an eye was allowed to do the same to the person who did it to them. However, Ghandi had an entirely different method. He said "An eye for an eye only makes the world blind." He thought that you should forgive people instead of seeking revenge. I myself lean more towards Ghandi. What about the rest of the world?
